Mena Art Gallery Exhibits
| Hats and Fiber | | When: Wednesday, February 01, 2012 | Time: 10:00:00 AM | This art show is all about hats and fiber. Paintings of hats, photos of hats, sculptures of hats, and real hats . We are hoping to see lots of quilts and hand woven pieces.
The reception will be from 1-3 p.m. on Sunday, February 5th. Come meet the artists and enjoy the kickoff of the show, from February 2nd through February 29th. | Childrens Show | | When: Wednesday, February 29, 2012 | Time: 10:00:00 AM | The Mena Art Gallery Children’s Show will begin February 29th through March 14th. This special judged show is open to all children ages 5 through 14(grades k-8th). Special thanks to our sponsor - Our local Mena McDonald's of last years show and again this year. Also new this year 2 special $50.00 awards to 2 deserving young artists. Any media, limit 3 entries, $.50 entry fee per entry. Only works that have been created with in a year from the last Children's Show may be entered. Information and awards will be given out at the reception March 4th from 1 - 3 PM. | Animals | | When: Wednesday, March 14, 2012 | Time: 10:00:00 AM |  | Start your designing and get your ideas organized to enter this fun animal show. With the subject being animals there is just an endless supply of ideas for this show. We would like to see lots of 3-D pieces as well as photos, oils and watercolors. Show begins March 14th(Wednesday) with drop off from 10am to 4 pm. Reception date is March18th(Sunday) and pickup date is April 18th from 10am to 4 pm. |
| 25th Annual High School Show | | When: Wednesday, April 18, 2012 | Time: 10:00:00 AM |  | The Mena Art Gallery is again hosting the High School Show where all High School age students(Grades 9 through 12th) are invited to show their works of art. Any media, 2 or 3 dimensional and categories may be entered. This show, in its 25th year(started in 1987) always brings in the outstanding work of our area High School students. Entry fees of $1.00 per entry. Limit of 3 entries per person. Sorry, any previous entries submitted can not be accepted from a judged MAG show also all entries must have been done since the previous High School Show. Drop off for entries is on Wednesday, April 18th, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the gallery only unless previous arrangements have been made(call the gallery for more information). Just a reminder that all works must be ready to hang ..sorry no sawtooth hangers. Show begins April 18th through May 2nd with the reception on April 22th from 1 - 3 pm. |
| Trees and Leaves | | When: Wednesday, May 02, 2012 | Time: 10:00:00 AM | | Trees and Leaves: May 2nd-June 6th – All Artists showing any media. This show is for any artist, any media with entry fees. This non judged show is a great place to exhibit your work during the high traffic of the summer tourist season here in Mena. You may enter work that has been shown before, with a entry limit of space only. Entries due May 2th from 10 AM to 4 PM; pick up on June 6th. Reception will be held May 6th from 1-3 PM. |  |
| 2012 Photography Show | | When: Wednesday, June 06, 2012 | Time: 10:00:00 AM | Attention all Photographers, it’s time to get your entries ready for Mena Art Gallery’s annual Photography Competition. Cash prizes in the amount of $2,745 will be presented this year to the winners in two divisions – Adult and Youth (ages 12 to 17). Dates are June 6th to July 5th with the reception on June 10th from 1 to 3 PM. Drop off and pickup times are the same 10 AM to 4 PM on June 6th and July 5th. |  |
| Paint & Draw | | When: Thursday, July 05, 2012 | Time: 10:00:00 AM |  | Get out your pens, pencils, and ink. This show is all about your view of art. As an added bonus we will have the PCDC students join us in this show. Entries are due on July 5th from 10:00 - 4:00. Pick will be on Aug. 1st from 10:00 until 4:00. |
| 3D and Pottery Show | | When: Wednesday, August 01, 2012 | Time: 10:00:00 AM | | This fun show is for all 3D artists and potters out there. A special fee of $25.00 per member artist will be charged allowing unlimited items to be entered.In the event that you do not have enough pieces then the entry fee will be $5.00 per piece for members and $10.00 per piece for non members. Due date for entries is Aug 1st from 10:00 - 4:00 Reception will be August 5th from 1-3 PM. This show will end September 5th. Check back for more information. |  |
