Mena Art Gallery Exhibits
| Photography Show | | When: Wednesday, July 30, 2008 | Time: 10:00:00 AM | With digital processes making photography cheaper every day, this show is one of our most popular. Check in will be on Wednesday, July 30th from 10 am to 4 pm. The judging will take place on Friday by well known Arkansas Photographer, Tim Ernst. Reception and awards presentation will be Sunday, August 3 from 1 pm to 3 pm. Pick up date will be Wednesday, September 10th from 10 am to 4 pm. Maximum number of entries per person will be 3. Five different categories for the adults will be as follows: Landscapes with Structures; Landscapes without Structures; Animals; Still Life and Floral; and People and Portraits. Awards include Best of Show $250, and in each category a 1st Place $200, 2nd Place $100, 3rd Place $50, and Honorable Mention $25. Additional awards that can go to either youth or adults are the $100 RL Norris Award, a $100 Floral Award provided by Shelton C. Bohlman, of James SuperMarket and the $100 Peoples Choice Award provided by Holly Springs Real Estate. Entry Fees will be $7.00 per entry for Adult Mena Art Gallery Members and $10.00 per entry for Adult non-members. There is a separate division for youth ages 12-17 which does not have categories with entry fees of $1.00 per entry(limit of 3 entries per person). In the Youth Division there is a 1st place award for $50, 2nd place $40, 3rd place for $30, and Honorable Mention is $15. For a copy of show rules and entry form,Photography Show

| Wheels (cycles, cars, bikes,anything with wheels) | | When: Wednesday, September 10, 2008 | Time: 10:00:00 AM | Wheels (cycles, cars, bikes,etc) September 10 to Oct 8 – Theme show featuring motorcycles, antique cars, bikes, or anything with wheels as the subject; any media, any ages. All entries must have a "Wheels" theme: two dimensional work must include a wheel subject of some type; three-dimensional work must also include some form of wheel subject. | Ouachita Studio Tour Exhibit | | When: Thursday, October 09, 2008 | Time: 1:00:00 PM |  | The Artists of the Ouachita Studio Tour will have their art on display at the gallery. Come by and see what the tour is all about. Dates for the exhibit will be from October 9, 2008 through October 15th,2008. The tour is running from October 10th, 11th and 12th, 2008. The beauty of the region and the simpler lifestyle has attracted artists from all over to settle in the Ouachitas where they find quiet and inspiration for their creativity. This year's art trail has some great artists, some well known around the state, the country, and even around the world. | Ouachita Expressions | | When: Wednesday, October 15, 2008 | Time: 10:00:00 AM |  | Ouachita Expressions: October 15 to November 26-- The Premier Fall Art Show. The reception held on October 19th is a wonderful opportunity to greet the participating artists and discuss their works, so bring a friend and enjoy the show. With both 2D and 3D fine arts media including photography and computer generated work, the show promises to be an interesting and eclectic mix of the finest works of the region. Adult members and adult non members may enter three entries per category. Youth and children may enter a maximum of 4 for the show. The competition is open to everyone who has created their own artwork and has not previously entered it in a judged MAG show. Categories are: 1)Works on canvas, wood,gesso board,etc. including oils and acrylics. 2)Works on paper, including watercolors, pastels, pencil, prismacolor, ink, and original prints as etchings or woodblocks. 3) Photography and computer generated art. 4) Three dimensional arts and crafts. 5) Youth (ages 13-17) 6) Children(ages 5-12). | Christmas Red Bow Show and Sale | | When: Wednesday, November 26, 2008 | Time: 10:00:00 AM |  | Christmas Red Bow show and sale: Nov. 26th to Jan 7, 2009 – Entries for this show should be priced to sell. The opening date of the show is early this year in order to coincide with the Mena's Christmas Parade on Saturday, November 30th. Most of the normal rules for entries will be waived, including entry fees, limits on the number of pieces entered, and the normal framing standards are also waived. Please realize that all 2D work must either be capable of being hung on our walls or must be protected so it can be displayed in racks. This will give our artists a chance to exhibit lots of their works and hopefully to sell them. This show is nonjudged with no entry fees. Entries due: November 26th. Reception Nov. 30th.
